Understanding Nitrogen Membrane Units

How Do Nitrogen Membrane Units Work?

Our system starts with a high psi/scfm air compressor that goes into our nitrogen membrane generator. This produces 96-99% purity on site. From there, we are able to use an air probe to reach the bottom of the silo and an extra-large airline that goes into the headspace at the top with a vaporizer. This step allows us to keep an oxygen deficient atmosphere, with oxygen levels close to 0, to get the material out.

1.) Save your facility time — The mix of the equipment system we have and the knowledge of silo clean outs, we are the one-stop-shop for fire remediation. Not only can we emergency mobilize to you, but we are also able to control the atmosphere quickly with our nitrogen membrane system and then completely clean out whatever commodity is in the silo. Save your facility the time and money of two contractors and two mobilization fees by calling us first instead.

2.) Let the Numbers Show the Progress— When our crews are on-site, we are constantly checking the atmospheric levels with our advanced air monitors and temperature gauges. This allows us to act swiftly if there are any changes to the atmosphere to eliminate a problem before it even starts. Our industry knowledge is second to none and allows us to be prepared for any change that may occur in the job.

3.) Produce Pure Nitrogen On-Site — Part of our entire NPU System, Nitrogen Production Unit, is the nitrogen membrane generator. This element of our system allows us to produce nitrogen at the job site to pump into silo. This inert gas purging technique allows us to take control of the LELs, Lower Explosive Levels, and start working at getting that material out.
